Specialty Care

OB Emergency Department

Baptist Medical Center East has partnered with the OB Hospitalist Group to ensure an OB/GYN physician (hospitalist) is on-site 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We ensure that every expectant mother is evaluated and treated by a physician regardless of time, location, complication, or circumstance. These highly skilled, Board-Certified OB/GYNs provide consistent care to patients in the hospital and emergency care to those who may need it.

If your physician is not available, the OB/GYN hospitalists can examine and evaluate the progress of your labor, review test results and fetal heart rate tracings, stay on top of any problems that may evolve, and provide you and your baby with a safe delivery, while working closely and communicating with your physician or midwife.

At Baptist Health we are ready for every situation, especially the ones that are not planned. We are the only health system in Central Alabama with an OB Hospitalist Group onsite 24/7.
